  • Trump told Breitbart News that his upcoming book will include letters from Princess Diana.
  • In the interview, he said the letters show Princess Diana and other public figures "kissed my ass."
  • Diana's brother responded to the claims, saying she viewed Trump "as worse than an anal fissure."

Princess Diana's brother disputed former President Donald Trump's recent claim that she was among a group of people who "kissed his ass" in the years before his political career.

"Surprised to hear that Donald Trump is apparently claiming that my late sister Diana wanted to 'kiss his arse,'" Diana's brother, Earl Charles Spencer, tweeted on Wednesday.

"The one time she mentioned him to me — when he was using her good name to sell some real estate in New York —she clearly viewed him as worse than an anal fissure," he added.

Trump made the comments during a recent interview with Breitbart News to promote his upcoming book, titled "Letters to Trump." The book will be released on April 25, according to publishers Winning Publishing.

It is expected to feature the correspondences Trump had with several high-profile figures, including Princess Diana, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Hillary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II, and former President Richard Nixon, Breitbart reported.

"I think they're going to see a very fascinating life. I knew them all — and every one of them kissed my ass, and now I only have half of them kissing my ass," Trump told Breitbart News in the interview, published on Sunday.

It is unclear whether Trump's comments in the interview accurately reflect the contents of the book.

Trump's eldest son Donald Trump Jr. also told Breitbart that his father "has been around some of the most interesting people in the world."

"It's amazing how quickly their adoration of him changed when he ran for office as a Republican. 'Letters to Trump' shows you exactly how they felt about him and how phony their newfound disdain truly is," Trump Jr. told the news outlet.
