What's going on today:
- Looks quaint, but not so fast. Photos show China's most surreal tourist spot- a fake Instagram-worthy town full of pretend farmers and phony fishermen. Some Weibo posters liken Xiapu County to a rural "heaven on earth." But angry reviewers say the area is known for its staged pictures.
- Gosar leans on white supremacist friends. GOP Rep. Paul Gosar to hold fundraiser with white nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes. A flier featuring the pair was distributed Monday evening on the Telegram channel America First Updates, which supports Fuentes' political live stream "America First."
- Warning signs in days before Florida building collapse. Days before collapse a pool contractor was told that the equipment room flooded so often they had to replace the water pump's motor every two years, new report claims. A pool contractor saw the building two days before the collapse and noted an unusually high volume of water buildup in the building's basement.
- JP Morgan catches up. JPMorgan is raising base pay for first-year analysts to $100,000, as the biggest US bank finally jumps in on the pay-bump frenzy. JPMorgan's base-salary raises for analysts come as staffers head back to the office but months after other Wall Street firms showered talent with bonuses and perks.
- How embarrassing! Rudy Giuliani's son Andrew gets zero votes from GOP leaders in his bid for New York governor. Giuliani worked in the Trump White House before announcing his campaign for the New York governor's office in 2022. Maybe Four Seasons Total Landscaping is hiring?
That's all for now. See you tomorrow.
